We want to know it all, Lord.
Every upcoming event, answer, result. We feel like it would just be best if it was all revealed.
But You know our limits better than we do. You know what our fragile minds and delicate hearts can handle.
You also know that our desire for knowledge is actually our desperate human attempt for control.
Free us from our control freak tendencies.
Help us understand that the unknowns are in much Better Hands.
It can just be so scary, so anxiety-producing, to not know what is coming or how it will all turn out.
Free us from our worries and anxieties.
Help us trust that You, the Creator of all things, know what You are doing.
We think that if we could just decide the outcomes or tell You the way it should all go, that might just be better, because we know what we want.
Free us from our pride of believing we know what will be best for us.
Help us see that You have good plans for the future, even if it means we don’t get what we want.
Being consumed with “what ifs” takes our minds off of what is – all the lovely, sacred parts of our lives, all the answered prayers and fulfilled hopes.
Free us from our never-enough mindset.
Help us approach our lives today with gratitude and humility, for all the ways You have already provided and blessed us.
Free us from being so focused on the future that we forget to take in our present.
Help us be awake to our beautiful, yet complicated, lives today.
We believe, LORD, in Your goodness and faithfulness. Help our unbelief.
Continue to call us back to You when we forget or become distracted by the worries of our lives.
May we live into our Belovedness, and become more like You today.
